I've long held the view that cybersecurity is under developed as an industry, and will need to grow a lot in the future. All the Claude news has had investors running scared on cybersecurity stocks. But fundamentally, cyber security will become increasingly important, and will also change in nature. This new finding which shows how easily prompt injection can happen with agentic browsing highlights the changing landscape. I will watch with interest how this is dealt with. Off the top of my mind, I suppose whitelists of websites and some kind of web of trust scoring system can help, but it does look in some other senses like a fundamental issue with agentic browsing.
