Socratic reasoning, mental models... I really believe these skills which can be acquired and exercised are more useful and more important than any individual niche technical skills or knowledge. Both are necessary, but one is far more broadly useful!
Academia *knew* entire fields could not be replicated. They watched junk science proliferate and said nothing. This was not oversight. It was cowardly complicity.
